Ski holiday in the Allgäu get on the slopes
Whether on alpine skis, snowboards or cross-country skis - the glistening snow crunches beneath us. An invitation to experience the world of winter in the great outdoors! The Allgäu winters often offer white meadows in the valley, but always snow-covered, seemingly endless white mountain slopes. Thanks to our location on the northern edge of the Alps at an altitude of over 700 metres, we also enjoy bright blue Allgäu skies on many winter days. In the middle of this winter paradise, the Krone is an ideal starting point for your most beautiful moments on a skiing holiday!
Ski holidays in the Allgäu
The Allgäu is the largest German alpine skiing destination - for alpine skiers, snowboarders and freeriders with 36 ski areas, many kilometres of slopes with guaranteed snow, great mountain railways, ski and chair lifts and refreshment stops, all of which can be reached from the Krone in half an hour's drive.
- The Hörnerdörfer ski area (Bolsterlang) with 17 kilometres of pistes can be reached in 20 minutes. For skiers and snowboarders with wonderful views of the Illertal valley and the Allgäu mountains.
- The Balderschwang ski area with 34 km of pistes can be reached in 35 minutes. An idyllic high valley - also known as Bavarian Siberia - suitable for skiers, snowboarders and winter hikers.
- The 2-country ski area Fellhorn/Kanzelwand with 34 kilometres of pistes can be reached in 30 minutes and is a wonderful ski area. Gondola lifts take you up the mountain and at the top you are transported by chairlift or ski lifts - ideal for skiers and snowboarders with an overwhelming mountain view.
Ski areaGunzesried
Our nearest ski area is a newly modernised alpine gem around the Ofterschwanger Horn. A total of 18 kilometres of pistes are available - with a new eight-person gondola lift and a new six-seater chairlift to the summit. 90 percent of the pistes can be covered with snow, meaning that skiing fun is usually possible until the end of March. If you buy a multi-day ticket for the "Hörnerbahnen", you can also hit the slopes in Bolsterlang or Balderschwang the following day.
How to get there: Drive via Immenstadt and Blaichach to Gunzesried and park at the valley station of the Ossi-Reichert cable car! More information here!

Ski resortOberstdorf
Germany's largest interconnected ski area on the Fellhorn, together with the Kanzelwand cable car, even extends across to Kleinwalsertal. 14 cable cars and lifts ensure a comfortable ascent and the views of the Oberstdorf and Walsertal mountains are impressive. The huts and mountain restaurants offer plenty of places to stop for refreshments, and the "Mountain Show 2037" at the Fellhorn summit station is well worth a detour.
How to get there: Take the B19 to the roundabout before Oberstdorf and follow the signs to the Fellhornbahn on the right. More information here!

Kleinwalsertal ski area
Previously an insider tip when it comes to skiing, the Ifen ski area has been revitalised thanks to two new mountain lifts. A modern chairlift and a gondola lift now start their ascent from the valley car park directly below the strikingly sloping Gottesacker plateau - the former waiting times are a thing of the past. It is the spectacular cliffs and the impressive Gottesacker plateau that make the Ifen ski area such a special experience.
How to get there: Take the B19 and continue into Kleinwalsertal. After Riezlern, follow the signs to the Ifenbahn cable car. More information here!
