Do you like skating or classic cross-country skiing?

You're already right in the middle of the panoramic cross-country ski trail, with the views becoming more and more spectacular every minute: the striking Grünten mountain greets you from across the valley, the Illertal valley lies below - and the imposing Nagelfluh mountain range towers above. Now it's up to you whether you want to enjoy the panorama and the silence in the snow or take a more athletic approach and skate down the trail, turn by turn. In any case, it couldn't be more glistening, panoramic and varied!

Cross-country skiing paradise Diepolz-Knottenried
with 36 kilometres of cross-country trails can be found not far from our Hotel Krone. In the Bergstätt area above Immenstadt, you will find a cross-country skiing area that is usually snow-sure due to its altitude and modelling. The cross-country ski trails are interconnected, and when the snow conditions are really good, there are groomed connections as far as Niedersonthofen and Missen.
Bühler Loipe
leads 2 km along the large Alpsee lake and is an easy and medium-difficulty cross-country ski trail.
Loipe in Gunzesried
with a length of 4.6 km with a view of our local mountain, the 'Grünten', and a wonderful view of the Illertal valley is a medium-difficulty and sunny cross-country ski trail.
Ofterschwanger Moosrunde
has a network of trails up to 25 km long with an extension via Kierwang and Bolsterlang to Sonderdorf through a unique, unspoilt landscape - classic and skating trails.

GunzesriedCross-country skiing pleasure
In the Gunzesried valley, a 15-minute drive will take you to the Gunzesried village trail. Or you can drive another 3 kilometres to Gunzesried Säge, where an extensive network of trails awaits you along the valley up to Alpe Vorsäss. Please park at the large car park at the entrance to the village, where you can access the cross-country ski trail directly at the bus stop.

Cross-country skiing paradise
The Diepolz-Knottenried cross-country skiing paradise offers 36 kilometres of cross-country skiing and can be reached in just under 10 minutes from the Krone. The cross-country skiing area in the Bergstätt region above Immenstadt is usually very snow-sure thanks to its altitude. The cross-country ski trails are interconnected, and in ideal snow conditions there are groomed connections as far as Niedersonthofen and Missen. Access between Knottenried and Diepolz at the large cross-country car park.
