That’s exactly why we launched our “Plant Trees Instead of Making Beds” campaign!
In each of our bathrooms, you’ll find a small green felt tree. What may seem quite unremarkable at first glance offers our guests the opportunity to actively support reforestation projects here in the Allgäu.
But how exactly does it work?
Every day, our guests decide for themselves whether they’d like their room cleaned or would prefer to skip it for the sake of the environment. If you choose the latter, the little green felt tree comes into play. It’s hung on the door, and our housekeeping staff carefully records exactly how many trees were counted each day at our hotel. Thanks to this initiative, these little felt trees can grow into climate-resilient silver firs. We’re supported in this very special initiative by Olympic champion and forest ambassador Vinzenz Geiger, as well as by forestry experts from the AELF in Kempten. Sustainability Starts with the Little Things
Our reforestation initiative is an important part of our commitment to environmental protection. But for us, sustainability begins with the many small decisions we make in our daily hotel operations. For example, we follow the classic, widely adopted rule that towels are washed only if our guests place them on the floor. In addition, we have deliberately chosen not to include minibars in our rooms in order to further reduce energy consumption.
